the canyon ring {size 5.75}

0.00

Inspired by the beauty of Canyons, from which this stone originates. This unique piece of Royal Imperial Jasper sits inside of a hand-stamped sun burst and scalloped border and is made entirely from sterling and fine silver. Built to last. Fits a US size 5.75 with a hand-stamped band. My maker's mark tag and .925 is soldered to the back. Given a black patina, then sanded and polished to a matte finish, bringing out the details in the stamped work.

Royal Imperial Jasper is said to be one of the five fine Jaspers, with the Jasper occurring in veins. It is found in the steep canyons 50 miles northwest of Guadalajara, Mexico. The deposits are rich and concentrated, with almost 100 tons being mined over the past 10 years. This Jasper is known for having a large percentage of the "egg" pattern associated with this stone, like the one in this ring. This "egg" forms during the formation of the jasper, as opposed to the formation of the host rock. What makes this deposit so unusual and highly collectible is that it is the finest and largest deposit with egg patterning known in the world.
