moss agate landscape necklace

0.00

A translucent piece of Moss Agate, with tree-like inclusions, sits within a fine silver scalloped bezel, with hand-twisted rope detail. My maker's mark and .925 are stamped to the back for authenticity. Two jump rings are soldered on each side, allowing the pendant to move freely when worn. All jump rings are soldered closed for durability. Included is a sterling silver oxidized 18" chain, with an attached S clasp. A dark patina has been added to give it a rustic aesthetic and it has been sanded to show off its depth.

Moss Agate is not banded, and therefore not strictly an Agate in scientific terms; but is included in the Agate family. Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is clear to milky white, with dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron that has grown into patterns similar to moss or lichen. Spots of red may occur in some specimens, and occasionally the crystal is dark green with bluish inclusions. (Source: CrystalVaults.com)
