montana agate landscape necklace

0.00

A beautiful piece of Montana Agate that mimics a landscape scene with oranges, reds, yellows and browns is set within a fine silver scalloped bezel, atop a solid sterling silver backplate. A cut out has been hand-sawn through the back to allow light to pass through. The necklace comes complete with a beaded border, with my maker’s mark and .925 on the back for authenticity. It is strung on a 9” bead chain with all jump rings soldered closed for durability. Tumbled and brought to a shine.

Montana agate is a highly sought after stone and the term given to a variety of Chalcedony that was found near the Yellowstone River. Its origin was centralized along the Yellowstone National Park region of Montana and Wyoming. The development of Montana agate consists of volcanic ash and lava, among other natural elements. Often used interchangeably with Moss agate, which contain green to brown dendritic inclusions, similar to that of moss.
