Hubei Braided Ring {size 8}

0.00

Hubei turquoise set in a scalloped fine silver bezel, atop a sterling silver backplate. A braided ring band adorns the back and fits a US size 8. The ring was given a patina and then polished to a soft, satin finish. Ring face measures approximately half an inch in length.

Hubei turquoise was mined in the Hubei province of China. Its name "Hubei" means "North of the lake," which refers to the position in which the stone was found. This kind of turquoise was not developed by miners. It was found by farmers in the region. Chinese turquoise accounts for 80% of the turquoise now sold in the U.S. and some of it is so beautiful, it even rivals the famous mines from the American southwest.
