Gaspeite Feather Earrings

0.00

Two pieces of Gaspeite triangles are set in sterling and fine silver, with feathers dangling from a jump ring below. All of the jump rings have been soldered closed for strength and durability, while also allowing movement between the pieces. My maker's mark and .925, indicating purity, has been soldered to the back on a separate layer of sterling. Given a final polish and brought to a shine. Each earring measures around 2" in length.

Gaspeite is an extremely rare mineral, with a distinct yellowish-apple-green to bright green color. It is named after the place it was first found, in the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec, Canada. Today it is found only in a few locations. It belongs to the Calcite group of minerals.
