dendritic agate square ring {size 7.75}

0.00

A stunning piece of Dendritic agate with some beautiful yellow/orange tones mixed in with the darker dendrites and milky white backdrop is set within a fine silver bezel, atop a solid sterling silver backplate. Handmade bead details adorn the sides with a textured split shank adorning the back. My maker's mark and .925 are included on the back for authenticity. The whole ring was given a dark patina and brought to a soft, satin finish.

Also called Merlinite, or dendritic opal. This variety is termed "dendritic" due to its internal collection of dendrites. Dendrites are fern-like inclusions of iron, manganese, or other metallic oxides that create bold patterns within the gem. Typically, dendritic opals (or agates) are cut into slices to best exhibit nature's artwork. As you might guess, these pieces are one-of-a-kinds, as no two dendritic patterns are exactly the same. Usually these stones are white, yellow, blue, green or pink and show the black inclusions well.
