Crystal Tower Ring {size 9.75}

0.00

Fit for a Queen, this Apophyllite crystal tower is set within fancy fine silver gallery wire, atop a sterling silver backplate, with a delicate, yet comfortable sterling silver band, best fitting a US size 9.75. This piece is sure to make a statement anywhere you wear it. My maker's mark and .925 are soldered to the back for authenticity. The ring has been given a dark patina and then brought to a satin finish, perfectly complimenting the icy gray tones of the crystal, reminiscent of winter and snow.

Apophyllite, whose name roughly means "to leaf apart" in Greek, is a mineral classic. It was given its name because crystals tend to peel or flake apart when they are heated due to the loss of water molecules. Although not that well-known by the general public, apophyllite is quite popular among mineral collectors. Apophyllite can be found in India, the USA, Brazil, Scotland, Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Mexico. There are also deposits found in Canada, Iceland, Norway, Germany, and Japan. Apophyllite is commonly associated with exceptional quartz and calcite crystals.
