ametrine & rainbow moonstone sacred talisman

0.00

A polished Ametrine crystal point (Amethyst + Citrine) is set within fine and sterling silver, with a rainbow moonstone centered on the top of the setting that flashes different shades of blue. A handmade bail completes the pendant, allowing the entire necklace to hang around 11 1/2 inches in length. The pendant was given a dark patina and then brought to a soft, satin finish, leaving bits of the silver dark to give it a raw, rustic aesthetic.

Ametrine is a rare gemstone with a finite supply that is produced in commercial quantities at only one mine in the world. It is a relative newcomer to the gemstone trade, being available in small quantities for just a few decades. It is a variety of Quartz that has both Amethyst and Citrine present in the same stone. It is considered the national gemstone of Bolivia. The colors are produced by iron impurities.

Rainbow moonstone is a part of the Feldspar group, which makes up approximately 60% of the Earth's crust. It is the name given to a variety of Labradorite that exhibits a blue or multi-colored flash. It is related to Moonstone, but the two materials are not the same, even though they are sometimes referred to as the same.
